*UPDATE* - We will be back in our normal facilities Wednesday, May 13th
As you are aware, the entire YMCA facility on Gornto Road was under four-plus feet of water from the recent flooding. Due to the extraordinary efforts of our staff and community volunteers, we were able to rescue and protect significant equipment. Unfortunately we lost significant equipment too. The YMCA is facing a monumental task but we are more than prepared for the challenges ahead and are hopeful of having our services restored before the end of the month. Our CEO, Larry Tobey, and his staff are working diligently to reclaim portions of the YMCA to possibly restore services before our estimated grand reopening date.
Our CEO has secured the use of several facilities around the community to ensure that your needs are met during the restoration period.
Please click here to learn more about these facilities and their operating hours.
Until reopening our main facility, we value your patience and hope that you will be understanding of our plight.
The YMCA is extremely grateful for your continued support and we have been overwhelmed at the generosity of our members.
If you would like to assist us, we welcome your help. We are still in need of volunteers and supplies. Also, if you would like to make a monetary contribution towards the clean-up efforts, please send your donation to YMCA P.O. Box 1301 Valdosta, GA 31603. |
