Valdosta-Lowndes County YMCA

Believe
In 1967, a group of community leaders came together with a common goal - to bring a YMCA to Lowndes County. They believed the mission of the YMCA of putting "Christian principles into practice, through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all" could help bring needed programs and services to the local community.

Commit
The YMCA is committed to the kids, families and the Valdosta-Lowndes County community. Our PrimeTime after school program and Day Camp programs were among the first of their kind in the region. The YMCA Challenger League for disabled youth provides unique recreational opportunities for this deserving group.

Achieve
We set high standards for program excellence. Standards that continue to evolve with the community's needs. We look to the future with the goals of providing a Youth and Teen center at our Gornto Road location, a permanent facility for our Gymnastics center and the enclosure of a pool to provide year-around aquatics for the community. These projects will enhance our ability to serve more people with the quality programs the YMCA is known for and is best able to provide.
